Random Lock Ups

I built my computer recently and everything seems fine but every now and then i would experience a random freeze/lock up which would require me to hard reset it.

My specs are
Asus P8Z77 V-LX Mobo
Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3
Intel 3570k 3.40
650W GX PSU
Hitachi 1TB HDD
Western Digital 1 TB HDD

it happened often a few weeks back but it seems stable after a BIOS update, but now i got it again..

Also i put this in the motherboard section since i wasn't sure but i have a belief that its strongly related.

Also i ran the Intel Burn Test for a couple of test and no crash and it seemed fine

Can anyone shed some light on this in situation?

At first i had to format the hdd then after that I went through 2 reinstalls of Windows.

Try running with only one or two RAM modules installed for a while. See if still the same.
You're using the onboard video, right?

Also to note this freeze comes off random as it may not do it for a few days since the BIOS update but its a very rare to happen if it does.

I'll try that but it may be a while i'll keep a tally of days then i'll post it here again.

Short update: it has frozen on idle while just browsing the web, with only 2 RAM sticks and the frequency set up at 1600

It might be a driver/software issue. What antivirus/firewall using?

I use avast! antivirus

Try uninstalling it and see if still the same. Don't download files during the testing period for avoiding a virus.
