I have been getting random ping spikes on all devices on my network for just about a year now and have finally decided to do something about it. It's very annoying, especially when playing games like CS:GO to have ping spikes that range from rising to 300 ping and then back down in a few seconds to full 10 second freezes of up to 3000 ping. I used ping plotter to show what happens to my connection while playing. I joined a server for about 10 minutes and plotted my ping, so you can see what I am experiencing in the picture:

I have tried many different things to try and fix this issue:
changing frequency of router from 2.4 ghz to 5 ghz
changing router from compatability mode (802.11b/g/n) to performance mode (802.11n only)
Trying different wireless adapters
restarting router
unplugging router
manually turning on and off the verizon box outside

The only thing I haven't tried is using a wired connection, but I'm in the works of wiring an ethernet cable thru my attic to reach all of the rooms. Other than using a wired connection, any suggestions on what could be causing the issue?

My specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5 4690 3.5 GHz
GPU: Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 4GB
Ram: 2x4 GB DDR3-1600 HyperX Fury
Motherboard: Asus H97M-E
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
SSD: Crucial BX200 240GB
PSU: Corsair CS550M
Case: Fractal Design Core 1500
WiFi Adapter: Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I
