I have a Dell Insiron 530 from several years ago. I bought it new, installed a Nvidia geforce 9600gt, antex 450W PSU, and commenced to gaming. I stopped using the computer for a while except for web browsing occasionally. I decided to start gaming again, But when I tried, I was getting restarts randomly when Gaming or watching youtube Videos. I opened the computer cleaned out the overwhelming amount of dust, and replaced the PSU because of a faulty fan that would have been more trouble than it was worth to change. I replaced it with an E-power 600W.
I also replaced the rear exhast fan because it was noisy. I added a 120mm intake fan at the front of the case, and a 120mm exhaust fan on the case side.
I have re thermal pasted the northbridge, southbridge, Graphics card (what a pain lol) and the CPU.
I can run Furmark, and Prime95, and 6 HD youtube videos in the background for over an hour. GPU temp hovers at around 68C, CPU cores (speedfan) measure 48-50C.
After doing this sort of test (or even before from a cold start) if I open a youtube video set it to HD, and go fullscreen, the computer restarts anywhere from 10-60 seconds in. When gaming, it's usually around an hour, but sometimes earlier when I get restarted.
I have ran CCleaner, Malwarebytes, chkdsk, memtest, spybot S&D, whocrashed, looked through event viewer, unchecked "automatically restart".
I have replicated the problem with a different set of RAM, with a different Video card, with 2 different power supplys, and put my HDD in another Comp and booted from it (problem did not follow HDD).
What would you guys do? I cannot understand why furmark/prime95 together would run but not a youtube vid. I'm running furmark at fullscreen.
Forgot to mention I've also run 3DMark several times all the way through with no problems.
When the computer restarts, it's as if i pulled the plug, then immediately plugged it in and turned it back on. Any and all help is appriciated.
