I have a question, I'm getting random restarts when playing VR. As random as the most heaviest scene in Skyrim you can imagine or as light as putting on the headset on SteamVR Home. I'm currently updating Windows in case it's software-related.
The event viewer shows nothing relevant, only that it was an unexpected shutdown. Looking around the net says that PSUs can turn themselves off to protect the system when it can't give what it asks but my question falls in wouldn't that count as a power-loss? My BIOS is set to 'Stay Off' so it shouldn't be restarting. I got a recording by a friend that captured the hardware data the second it rebooted. The wattage of CPU and GPU are at 403w. I have a 720w PSU (about 5 years old, 80+ Bronze).
The system has 3 HDDs and a M.2 SSD.
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X and NVidia GeForce GTX 980Ti
The GPU voltages the second it shutoff (Don't have the data of the other rails) are as follows:
Rail; Current; Min; Max; Average;
PCIe: 11.928v; 11.784v; 12.336; 12.189v; 210w max
8-pin 1: 12.168v; 11.768v; 12.432v; 12.326v; 80w max
8-pin 2: 12.032v; 11.456v; 12.408v; 12.249v; 97w max
I'm going to install Windows updates in the meantime and do a memtest in case it's that but if you guys can guide me to see if it's the PSU or not, I would greatly appreciate it!
