Question Random screen dimming/darkening

I have a brand new setup and monitors and when searching the web or watching a video all of a sudden everything will get darker for a second and go back to normal, i tried swapping out monitors and it still does it, any one have an idea why or what is causing this? in games i don't think its happening or im not noticing it.

Maybe play around with windows energy settings. Like set monitor to never go to sleep, try balanced or switch to high performance, just test some of the settings.

I have tried every setting there is in power settings, NVidia control, and even the monitor menu themselves. I've tried 3 different monitors with 3 different display port cables/hdmi cables

You did use the latest clean install of gpu drivers too?

i built the pc installed this driver from new. Driver Version: 496.49 - Release Date: Tue Oct 26, 2021, and had the issue, I updated to the current driver via GeForce experience and did the custom/clean install option to do so, but did not ddu to do so. still have the issue.

update, i got A new gpu and ddu before installing. still does this issue with a new gpu. will update again as i know there is people out there with same issue

well incase anyone stumbles across this thread with this issue, I got it to stop, not exactly sure which thing stopped it but here is what I did, I updated my motherboard bios, followed by a gpu firmware update. Also turned use hardware acceleration off in chrome, and now all my issues are gone!
