Hey Guys

I have new build which is randomly shutting down e.g. power switches off and doesn't restart. I've read on here about the PSU being a common problem so I am trying to get hold of another one to check that, though I never had any problems on the PC I took the PSU from. In the meantime I wondered if there were any other ideas. Pretty sure its not temps as I can run Cinebench and Prime no problem with CPU temp at 90 for 15+minutes. The shutdown seems to be random - sometimes within a min of turning the machine on, other times I'll be using the PC for hours before it shuts down. Full specs:

Thermaltake Core V1 SPCC Mini ITX Cube Gaming Computer Case with 2 additional 80mm rear fans
Gigabyte Aorus x570 Pro Wifi (BIOS version F32)
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X with AMD wraith stealth cooler
MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Ventus Xs 6GB OC (Driver version 27.21.14.6663)
EVGA SuperNOVA NEX750G 80PLUS Gold (2013)
16GB Samsung DDR4-2133 8GB/512Mx8 CL15 Desktop Memory M378A1G43DB0-CPBRFB (Not on supported list)

TIA

Matt.

Can you try it with a newer and better PSU? Using 2021 hardware with a 2013 PSU is usually not advised. Even the best PSUs have a limited shelf life because capacitors wear out over time and your PSU won't work the same way after 8 years of use that it would when it was new.

Thanks @g-unit1111. I am trying to acquire a new PSU to test with. I have also ordered a stick of 4gb RAM from the approved list to check that. Let me know if you think of anything else I can check while I wait for those.

Best,

Matt.
