random shutdowns new cpu

Just got a new cpu, and i get these random shutdowns. the components is not too hot at all. just got a new psu too so i dont understand what the problem could be. any tips?

Random shutdowns is often caused by a too small, defective, or poor quality PSU. What is the make/model of your 850W?

just bought my psu, its an corsair RM850.

Unless it's defective, that should be a fine PSU. Does this happen only when the system is under load, like gaming? Or at any time even idle?
You might try to eliminate the gfx card as the issue by removing it and running off the integrated video for awhile. See if it still happens.
But if the issue only started happening after changing the CPU, that should be a clue. Did you update the board's BIOS for the Haswell-Refresh CPU?

i have tried checking the pins in the socket. the pc runs fine with my old i5 4690k, so i think there's a problem with the proccesor. going to return it so they can see if theres something wrong with the proccesor. tried everything including removing the gpus and stuff like that. the proccesor is not supposed to run at like 60 degrees in an idle state. is it stupid to return it for a new one, or should i just do it? sorry for bad english.

If you are sure the CPU is idling at 60C, there is either something wrong with it, or the cooler, or its mounting. That high of temp could very well explain the shutdowns. I'm sure the load temp must have been near throttle if not beyond.
If you are using the stock cooler for the i7, check the fan RPM, see if it is spinning at or near the i5 cooler's RPM.
Also check the 4 posts that push thru the MB. Intel still has a rather poor design for mounting coolers. Be sure the posts' feet are flat on the MB and that the black pushpins are properly spreading the white fingers behind the MB.

i maxed out the cpu fan. stil the same problem with the i7, so i switched to my i5 where i get around 40 degrees idle temps, wich seems fine. the fan was properly seated so i think there's something wrong with the cpu. i conntacted customers support and they told me to return it. even in the BIOS the i7 was reaching up tp 75 degrees, even with watercooling maxed out.

I suppose it is only logical that you are down to that as being the problem. Rare to have a bad CPU in that regard slip by QC at Intel, but possible I guess. Good luck.
