PC Shuts down (but doesn't power all the way off - PS fan, GPS internal light stay on, keyboard lights go off, but not right away).

There is definitely no BSOD - I have system set to not shutdown on blue screen and have looked in BlueScreenView and don't have anything there in almost a month.

No recent hardware or software changes.

No pattern except so far I'm always using the PC when it happens - haven't noticed particularly high temps.

What do you mean by grounding out? CPU load is usually in the 30-40% range when it happens.

No

What are your Power Settings in Control Panel set to? It your machine somehow trying to go to sleep / hibernate? What does your Event Viewer look like? Is there anything in the System log that may indicate what's going on?
You may be able to get a procmon log going, and then when the system stops, it will stop writing to the file, and then when you power back up, you should be able to go through the log file and see what was happening just before the stop.

Only thing set to power save is the monitor, and since I'm using the pc most of the time when it happens, it is unlikely that that;s where it is coming from - i've turned of the power save just to be safe though.
