Hi everybody..
I've recently built a new pc..The problem i have is random shutdowns, sometimes before starting windows and sometimes after..What i cannot figure out is that the shutdowns occur when my pc is NOT at load..e.g. if i start playing a game (World of Tanks) there is no shutdown at all..i stretched my pc at full load with Aida64, Furmark etc, tested voltages, temps & fan speeds and i have no problem..Random shutdowns do occur when in idle or when i start windows..What i suspect but probably is wrong is that the PSU has issues at low load. All drivers & bios are fully updated...

pc specs:
i5 4670 with Thermaltake NIC F4 Cooler
MSI Z87 G45 Gaming mobo
G.Skill Ripjaws 8gb 2133
ASUS R9 280x Top
SSD CORSAIR
WD 1T Blue
Corsair AX860

thnx for ur time
Steve

You may need to manually set your ram timings in your bios. For some reason my G-skill ram was set to CAS 9, and it was supposed to be CAS 7. I was getting random restarts until I manually set the setting for the ram.

It could also be a faulty stick/slot. Test one stick at a time and run memtest as well to see if one is faulty.

Hope this helps.
