So recently my computers been getting this random spikes of lag where I can barely even load my web browser. Extracting a small file that usually takes 10 seconds is now taking 10 minutes, and I can barely even work in FL studio without it crashing every time I load a new plugin. This has never been an issue for me before, and it's becoming more and more frequently. Usually a simple reboot would do the trick until it happened again, but now even when I turn on my computer and load windows it's slow.
The only thing I can really think of that I may have done is move my pagefile.sys to one of my other hard drives to clear space on my SSD. I don't know much about it, so I'm not sure if this would cause an issue or not. But if I can recall, it was still lagging before I moved the pagefile.sys, however it may have gotten worse after. If it helps here are some of my computer specs:
MSI 990FXA amd motherboard
Amd 8core 4 GHz processor
16gb if ram
120gb SSD, as well as two 600gb hard drives.
MSI GeForce gtx 770 graphics card.
I also read that one of my hard drives is possibly corrupt? I've been downloading quite a bit of VST plugins lately, 50gb+ but they were all purchased so I don't think any of them would have been containing a virus.
Anyway, if you have any tips or advice, I'd appreciate it!
