Random unexplainable latency issues

very random and weird latency issues
if i connect to a server on disocrd , i get a ping of 90 , if i disconnect and reconnect in 1 sec my ping would be 140 , if i do it again , it can go down to 118 , again and it can go higher or lower , the thing is , if i stay connected , the ping would remain in a constant close range
same thing with connecting to a game server , if i connect with a high ping it would remain the same , if i connect with a low ping , it stays low

i have 15mbps speed ( ADSL ) and im in egypt and my ISP is Telecom egypt ( previously known as TE-data if that helps

Are you sure you are always connecting to the same IP address. Be aware the same DNS name does not always map to a single IP due to tricky stuff server companies do to load balance their networks.

What happens is you manually ping some IP like 8.8.8.8. Does this one change at the same time as the other or is it always more or less the same.

You can also ping the IP of your router. This should always be very low and consistent unless you are using wifi.

You could run tracert to some of the devices you are having issues with. You want to try to see where the latency is increasing. The farther down the trace you get though the less likely you can do anything to fix, the problems could be in other ISP.

Egypt is one of those countries that filters some content. I am not very familiar how they do this but they must have some firewall type of device doing this and it could be having a impact on sessions.

im sorry not to mention that the ping if not constant in a close range it can go from 140 to 105 to 150 and so on , very unstable
usually my ping was around 79-95
also i tried with a diffrent device ( laptop) that was reverted to factory settings , yet the problem exists , so i know its not the devices for sure , also tried diffrent routers and same problem , a Netgear Dg834Gv3 , and a LINKSYS x1000

and im not that good with networking , if ur asking me if i have a static DNS , i did , with or without it i still have the same issue , i made a DNS benchmark and the best was my routers ip address and my ISP's DNS which is 163.121.128.135
i tried using a bunch of other DNS but problem remains
i thought maybe i have a packet loss problem and changing the MTU size would fix it and sometimes it does remove the "packet loss warning icon" from some games as RainbowSix/battlefield
but it wouldnt help the ping whatsoever
i will try tracert and see how it works and provide the information in my next post

also egypt DOES block some ports including VOIP and sometypes of VPN ports but it has been like that for over a year or two
and this problem is very recent (less than a month)

i made a tracert to google.com 3 times , and then once to ubisoft.com just to see how it goes and here are the results

This shows no issues but if it is intermittent you have to get lucky to catch it.

The first hops say 1-7 are really good and very consistent and these are likely in your ISP. The other past that point are other ISP, google and GTT in these cases.

You can not read too much into the jumps is hops 9-11 it does not mean anything when the final hop is showing no errors. You are getting very consistent times to the final hop. The 77-85ms is a fairly valid number for a server located in the EU.

The other trace I am guessing those number are that large because the server is located in canada...I think. It is a little higher than you would like but there is not much you can do about it since it is related to how ISP are interconnected between you and the server. The best you could even hope for is in the 180ms range on a more direct fiber but it appears your traffic goes via the EU to get to remote server.

In any case what you really want to see is a issue in hop 2. You could leave a constant ping run to that IP and see if when the games report strange ping times if this changes. This is the simplest to get fixed since it represent the connection between your house and the ISP.

If the problem is in some router in the EU where your ISP connects to other ISP that is not likely something you are going to get fixed.

It is all going to be running lots of ping and tracert to try to catch the problem so your ISP can fixed it.....if they feel like it.

the ISPs in egypt dont feel like doing anything other than make money ... their support really have no idea what they are saying
the other day i called and the woman talking to me told me my router can not hold their speeds .. its 15 mbs
i dont know much but im pretty sure no router on this planet cannot hold 15 mbps...

if theres nothing i can do about this problem and only the ISP can fix it .. im helpless i guess
but thank you for trying anyway :)

If you do more testing and can prove where the problem is. You keep calling asking for a higher level tech you "might" get something done. Unfortunately you need to do their job for them. You really need to know more than they do so they can not deny it.

Even I have trouble getting past the first level idiots. I have had to call friends I worked with in the past that now work for the ISP. Since they know me they got me to the right guys and I was correct they had a bad board in a core router but if I had been a end user they would have asked me if I had rebooted my pc for the 10th time.

the problem is if u ask for another high tech level they will just come up with any crap not to , or say " you cant, a problem must be reported and sent to them and they will analyze and contact u within 2 hours ", i heard that line twice , no one calls lol

and the problem is i know more than their tech does , and im HORRIBLE at networking...
i really have no hope talking to them about the ping , they keep saying we dont support that problem or whatever
if u have any suggestions to do , say maybe the cables would help if changed or anything u can think off , would be much appreciated
thanks anyway :)
