I recently upgraded both my graphics card and Windows 10 at the same time (idiot mode on.) After the upgrade, on certain user accounts the graphics will stop functioning and sometimes the monitor will report that it is attempting to switch to analog graphics. The only solution is to give it an NMI with the power button and restart. I have tried switching the monitor and several different DVI and VGA cables. The problem occurs six or more times per day on affected user accounts, and not at all on others. It is most likely to happen during a period of inactivity, but sometimes happens while the machine is in use. I honestly don't know what to do short of ripping out the guts and replacing everything with new hardware (because it's a really good case.) The machine is a Dell XPS 630i with 4gb ram and retrofitted with a MSI GTX 750 TI. stock parts are 8 years old. I don't want to replace the machine if at all possible.

Hi,

Start by running System Restore and restore it back to an earlier date or time before it even had run the updates.

Here's how to run System Restore:

Once done and if it work do a clean install of your graphics card driver.
- Go to Device manager and uninstall the GTX driver.
- Also check Programs and Features and uninstall anything related to NVIDIA.
- Next is to download and install the latest driver from NVIDIA support site.
- Here's the link: nvidia.com/download/index.aspx
- Reboot your PC once the latest driver has been installed.
- If these doesn't work you may need to reinstall Windows 10.
