I am having some very strange and random issues with WIFI, the connection speed will drop down to virtually nothing and become completely unusable, but only for certain devices. Whenever this happens the WIFI signal is actually still fine, showing full strength.
For example: This happens to my wife's PC in my dining room, the WIFI signal is still at full strength, but speedtest will show a download speed of 0.x, but upload speed will still be 7Mb.
If I run speedtest on my mobile phone or laptop, while sitting right in front of this same computer, I will get the same result, almost zero speed and unable to do anything.
But if my wife does the same test on her samsung phone, again sitting right in front of that same computer, everything works fine, and she will get the full speed (20Mb+) and has normal internet access. So it will affect the PC and my phone and laptop, but not her phone.
If I literally take a few steps away from the computer towards the door, and run the same test on my phone, I get full speed and it works fine. So literally everything is dropping from full speed to zero within 2 feet.
My own computer, which is about 10 feet away from the one above, will still be working fine and is not affected by this issue.
I also tried replacing the WIFI dongle on my wife's computer, even though it did not seem to be directly related to her computer, being as it affects other devices as mentioned.
Then the issue will randomly go away at some point, and everything will go back to normal.
I have used a WIFI scanner, and there is no interference, nothing else on the same channel. There are no electrical items in the room to cause interference, I made sure the TV and printer etc were turned off.
Anyone got any ideas?
