Hey,
Recently I have noticed that my computer will randomly lose video signal for a few seconds and reconnect, while in games mostly. This is quite annoying as it causes some games to crash. This all started when I updated my drivers to the latest version (14.4)

Spec:
PSU: XFX 450Watt
Graphics Card: ASUS AMD Radeon 7790
CPU: AMD Athlon x4 645
Motherboard: Asus M4A78LT-M
RAM: 8GB Patriot

Yea, I tried that, I uninstalled the video drivers, rebooted and re installed them and rebooted again, and tried playing a game, the same thing happens as before 🙁

Here is the motherboard support page, you'll have to select the appropriate OS version:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A78LTM/HelpDesk_Download/

You'll want the most recent bios and the bios update tool.

Page 41 out of 64 in your user manual (also available on that website page) describes how to update the bios for your exact board.

This isn't necessarily the answer, but it is a general step taken to solve some general problems (especially newer driver related issues).

You should be able to update the bios from within windows, avoiding making USB or CD boot disks etc.

When I run the AFUDOS tool, it says your PC Ccannot run this app, (I'm using Windows 8.1 64 bit)

seeing as it's started since installing the latest drivers, have you tried rolling back to the previous driver version and seeing if it's still stable?

other causes of this are:
* faulty GPU
* insufficient power - PSU might be on its way out
* overheating - run GPUZ or hwinfo in the background while gaming and see what temps your GPU is reaching when you get the problem

I doubt that the PSU is on its way out as I only bought it in September 2013 (Same as graphics card) I ran the catalyst control center when playing Witcher 2 and once it reached 70°C it lost signal, thus causing the game to crash.

It might be that the cooling fans or something else in the gpu is faulty, but I'm not sure. I thought of trying to revert the drivers, to when it was stable (13.9, I think) but I couldn't find them to download

Yea, I tried running it in compatibility mode for Windows 8, and Windows setting, same result.

Well, I can't update via CD because Windows 8.1 doesn't detect my DVD drive ... So I guess I should try USB
