GPU randomly making screen go black?

About a week ago, I was playing a game on my PC when the screen suddenly went black, the monitor said that apparently nothing was connected to it. The fix for that was to shut computer off and turn it back on, but then it became a frequent thing even outside of games. It'd stay on for a while...

Having the same issue as this , While playing games the display goes off.

Im pretty sure it the problem with the Psu or the Gpu because rest of the components are new.
Psu-Corsair Vs650 (Almost 5 years old)
Gpu-Gtx 970 (Same , almost 5 years old)

Is there any way to check which component is making the problem ?
Shall i do a Gpu Benchmark for 20 mins ?

Try the easiest troubleshooting first, like have you tried a different display cord? Does the gpu fans continue to spin when the screen goes blank? Do you ever get bsod warnings? You said there are new componenets. What did you have and what did you replace?
