Alright, my build is FINALLY done! In fact, I'm typing to you on it! But the thing is, I have this wireless adapter, the TP-Link TL-WN725N. The speed and range on this thing is terrible! My laptop with a Pentium M in it has better range and speed than this thing does! It's ridiculous! I dont know what the problem is. I tried installing the latest drivers but all I got was "Wireless adapter not detected." I got Windows to recognize it by doing the manual driver install via Device Manager, but it's getting unbearably slow. While my laptops can download at up to 3 mbps, my desktop with this god blasted wireless adapter can't even exceed 300 kb/s, the fastest it's gone is 295 kbs. It's not gonna be easy getting games with this download speed, and the ping is obnoxious! How am I supposed to game on this thing? Is it the drivers? Or should I just look for another adapter?

Solution
Those tiny USB Wifi modules have pretty poor reception. Have you noticed that routers and decent PCIe wifi cards all have (at least one) aerial which is at least a few inches long. No chance of anything like that in a USB module, especially one that size. It would be fine if you were very close to the router, but that's about it. Some laptops actually have pretty decent Wifi, they have plenty of space for decent aerials at least.

This would hopefully do the job for $15 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704059

This should definitely do the job for $45 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833106192

Thank you for the suggestion. I'm going to need a Male DVI to Female VGA connector to test my new baby near the modem, but what you're inferring is it isn't good for long distances? I hope that's the case, since most of my stuff will be done practically next to the router, but without any excess ethernet cables, I can't directly plug it in.

I wish it was just a driver issue cause I can't afford to buy another wireless adapter, sucks though cause the first one I planned to buy was a PCI-E card.
