I still have a lot to learn about monitor specifications, and what makes one monitor better than another one. I currently have the following 3 monitors:

Westinghouse L2410NM - LCD monitor - 24" Here
Samsung SyncMaster T240 - LCD monitor - 24" Here
Hannspree HL272HPB - 27" Here

I use the Westinghouse for my Xbox One. The other 2 are used as dual monitors for my PC. I bought the Westinghouse in 2007, so I'm assuming it is not the best of these 3. I really want to game on the best available monitor, but one advantage of the Westinghouse is the decent built-in speakers. Also, I'm not against selling a couple monitors and buying a new one that is great for gaming. How is this one:

BenQ RL2455HM - LED monitor - 24" Here

One last question: If you had to rank these 4 monitors in order, how would you rank them and please explain what makes one better than the other. Much appreciated!

Okay, after looking at the specs for these 4 monitors, the biggest things I noticed:

-Westinghouse has the highest cd/m2 at 500, while the BenQ has 250. This refers to the brightness?

-Westinghouse has the slowest response time at 8ms, while the other 3 say 5ms (The BenQ does say "5 ms (typical); 1 ms (gray-to-gray)", so I have no idea what that means).

-Also, the contrast ratios are 1000:1 for all 4, but the dynamic contrast ratio ranges greatly from 20000:1 to 30000000:1. Does the dynamic range matter, or should you be looking at the standard 1000:1 ratio?

I'm sure there are other big factors in the difference of quality between these monitors. Any help at all is greatly appreciated!

Well I pretty much answered my own question just by the old eye test. I hooked it up to my 27 inch and the difference in gameplay with my Xbox One is definitely noticeable.

Newegg shows my Hanns-G 27 inch having a 2ms response time and 30,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, while the Westinghouse 24 inch has 8ms response time (dynamic contrast ration not listed). Would the drop from 8ms to 2ms have this much of an effect? Or are other factors at play here such as LED backlight, etc.?
