Approximate Purchase Date: Nov 2022 (willing to wait for 990 pro vs. WD Black SSD and more reviews on coolers with raptor lake)
Budget Range: $1500 (for system specs given below)
System Usage from Most to Least Important: 3D rending/slicing, Heavy multitasking between slicing, web browsing, normal office aspects, virtual containers/machines, BeamNG,
Are you buying a monitor: No
Parts to Upgrade: CPU, Cooler, MB, RAM, SSD, Case
Do you need to buy OS: No
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg/Amazon
Location: NC/USA (4 hrs from Microcenter)
Parts Preferences: Intel
Overclocking: Yes
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe although video cards aren't on my radar though I have a few ATI570 cards around but most work is done via RDP so to start I will likely just use integrated graphics-BeamNG is a later on if I ever get time.
Your Monitor Resolution:2560*1440
Additional Comments: Ability to tune system fans for quiet vs. performance. RGB does nothing for me. Case will be on the floor with airflow all around. Hobbyist overclocker vs. my old extreme days (peltiers and lapping for those that remember the BP6
).
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Current i5-4690k @ 4.4ghz on ASRock z97 Extreme 6/16GB RAM with H100i/960 Pro is a bit old in the tooth for hosting some light VM's, 3d slicing/rendering, lots of web browsing/apps running.
Here's my current shopping list from Newegg.

Where I'm torn is the memory (aka for overclocking) and AIO cooler (Corsair 360mm (haven't looked at specifics) or CoolerMaster ML360R) though I'm happy to wait until more reviews are done with raptor lake and AIO's and waiting for the Samsung 990 Pro vs. the WD SSD.
For PSU I have an EVGA SuperNova 650G1 sitting around that may or may not be enough to at least boot-definitely not enough for a video card but I'll upgrade that at a later time if I decided to play games (console player now but still miss PC games and want to try BeamNG).
Thanks all for the great info (longtime lurker rare poster).
