Raritan Switchman USB KVM Problems

I've got a Raritan Switchman USB (4 port) that a friend loaned me to manage some servers I'm using to study for the RHCE.

I've got a vanilla Dell USB keyboard and a no name USB mouse connected to it.

Things were working ok until I noticed that the keyboard didn't work.

I pulled the power and shut down both of the systems connected to it, but the keyboard doesn't work when plugged into the keyboard labeled console port. The mouse works and if I swap them, the keyboard works.

I can plug the mouse, keyboard, or both into the built in USB hub and use both mouse and keyboard. This of course requies me to use BOTH the system and hub select buttons.

The hotkey functions don't work no matter how I have the mouse and keyboard plugged in.

Has anyone else seen this? Is there a way I can reset the KVM so that it works, or is that one console port dead?

It doesn't put me out of business, but it's a nuisance I'd like to fix.

I finally got time to shut everything down and completely disconnect anything that might transmit power to, or receive power from the KVM.

I left everything off for at least an hour.

When I put everything back together and turned the two servers on, the keyboard was working again, and the hotkey functions had returned.
