The servos add up a lot of money to the project.

However, I would not trust stall torque specifications of cheap servos. Many projects have built robots with PDI servos as well. and achieved acceptable performance.

This one is definitely cheaper, SpotMicro model. Which was a simple quadruped robot controlled with remote bluetooth controller.

Considering the final price of this project, I'd have to question why not go with a far more capable SBC, such as one from Nvidia. And, if anyone has gotten their NPU working, I'd also take a hard look at Rockchip RK3588 boards.

If you really have research on quadrupeds, take 2 legs off something in insecta or work with water bears. Maybe adapt banana slugs. Then if you can beg dogs to do some stage 0 stuff for rebuilding the Ukraine or CAR, adapt for that.
