I need a layman's explanation about those three things. I'll be using an AMD GPU and as I understand it, those don't support RTX. If that's not true, please correct me!

Choosing a motherboard, GPU and CPU is kind of a Rabbit Hole. You can very easily get into Analysis Paralysis and I think I'm there. 🤔

I'm sure I'll be focusing on 1080P gaming for now. I watched JayzTwoCents and he's talking about Rasterization and claims that it's a very mature technology and will serve the needs of 1080 Gamer's just fine.

So how do I focus on games that use it? I'd like to hear what those who have a better understanding of all this think. ATM I'm settled on Ryzen 7 7700 & Radeon RX 7700 XT. It's a mini-ITX build.

As luck would have it, I happened upon just the info I needed after posting this thread and having searched for the info for a couple days!

Cheers and have a good one!

Dlss and fsr in a nutshell are basically upscaling technology to try and get better performance. But rasterization seems a bit clearer. RTX is basically ray tracing. Sometimes looks great sometimes ray tracing is meh.

Might also see if you can fit a 6800xt or 7800xt. I recently got a 6800xt for $439 which isn’t much more than the 7700xt.
