This 670 will outperform a stock 680. I'm not sure your old Scythe cooler would fit in the case even though it is very good. Got you a larger monitor too. Kept your case and also got you a better PSU.

The Chronos is pretty slow compared to other drives. Get the V4, M4, Samsung 830, or Chronos Deluxe.

You're right. I forgot it was still using an SF controller. I actually thought the Chronos and the Deluxe version were similar in terms of NAND.

OP GET A VERTEX 4!

I like Willy's build, but I would get an H60, H80, or H100 so that you can OC that thing to 4.5 GHz. The Hyper 212+ is a great cooler, but the H-series liquid coolers get OC's over 5 GHz easily. 4.5 is just for a simple, stable OC. Also, load your case with the largest fans possible, in each mounting point. And, for $1,400 definitely get something better than a 660 Ti. I personally would go with a 7970 GHz edition. Fantastic card for $400. It beats out the 670 in most games, except BF3, because Nvidia just owns in BF3.

Sorry, couldn't help it. But yeah, you want at least 23" to be comfortable. Otherwise, it's good to go.

21.5" actually measures out to 22". I game on a 21.5"" monitor and it's nice tight pixels and plenty big enough for me. I started out on a 13" CRT back in the day so I can tell you what small is. No need to have a monitor that you have to have at least 2' of space between you and it just so you can view the entire screen.

Better?

Use that newegg combo I posted for the board + cpu. It's the reason I don't use pc part picker seeing how it doesn't take combo's into affect. That and it figures in the rebates into the total price and we all know how well those rebates work sometimes. It's not always money in the bank.
