Solution
The psu has already been mentioned.

For the 2tb drive go with a toshiba 7200rpm model , the p300 it one of the 1st range, even a Seagate barracuda at a push.
The wd 2tb drives are 5400rpm apart from the black series.
Since your use seems to be gaming, consider a I5-8600K.
You can use a less expensive Z370 motherboard like the asrock z370M pro4 and plan on a modest overclock.
Few games can make good use of more than 2-3 threads, the 8600K has 6.
The 8600K will run in the 4.5 clock range, that is some 40% stronger than the 3.2 for the 8700.
Yes, you will need an aftermarket cooler.
Noctua makes some good ones, here is their TDP guide.

Your case will determine what you can do.

Ahhhhhh, cmon!!! Stop spreading false information!!! Yes the base clock speed of the 8700 is 3.2 but it has the intel turbo boost technology that can boost its clock speed up to 4.6ghz when needed (read here while gaming). So a 8700 will be faster than your 8600k overclocked at 4.5. Even more considering that 8600 has 6 cores no hyperthreading and 8700 6 cores, 12 threads

^ he was suggesting that alternative for lowering the cost. With a good cooler and good oc, 8600k can do 4.8-4.9ghz.

Is the msi gaming pro carbon z370 cheaper than fatalit1y k6? Get that.

Get a corsair vengeance 550w or seasonic focus plus or xfx XTR or evga g2 /g3 psu. Cx500 is a poor choice.

Do I really need a better psu, because this is an old one I still have.
Also. I can't find any MoBo's with h370 or h310 chipsets, so if you could recommend any that'd be great.
I'm not looking to overclock anything btw.

Yeah, don't go cheap on the psu, it may not be fire hazard but not reliable. You will not want to see it failing on you with so many new components... If you insist and do not have the budget now, you can use it for some time but prepare to get a better psu soon.

Did you have any recommendations for the motherboard?
