That's a very nice build! And yes everything is compatible. The only thing though, why windows 8? windows 7 is so much better!!!. Also, is there any particular reason youre going with a mid tower instead of full tower? With such a nice video card and processor I would also consider getting 16gb RAM instead of 8. 8gb is going to become low for gaming pretty soon.

also if you want to overclock you'll need an aftermarket cpu cooler. 8gb is enough for all games i know of and another 8gb is easily added later when it isn't

The theme doesn't fit, and you shouldn't be grabbing a GTX 980, since it's only 15% better but at the price of $200 more. Use some of that money for a water cooler. And the PSU is bad quality for this sort of budget, grab something better like the new SuperNOVA 650 GS. But other stuff is all good.

Assasin's creed unity on ULTRA settings eats 10gb out of my 16 gb RAM. 8gb is starting to get old. getting 2x8gb or 1x8gb is much better than 2x4gb. If he is going for high end video card he is going to be playing ULTRA, so he will need lot's of ram. And I agree with them. that PSU is terrible man. PSU is a very important component, often overlooked. Get gold certified at least!
