Your CPU/MB not working. Coffee lake I3 only works on Z370 MB! How much is your budget for all those except GPU?

Zero. Motherboard is incompatible with CPU, PSU is low quality, cooler will not let you push that CPU to it's max. SSD is good, but you wont last long without additional storage space.

Isnt a CPU with less cores and more GHz better for gaming?

GHz is not everthing, otherwise FX-8xxx should be very good at gaming....

BTW, more and more games will be optimized to use more cores. For example, in overwatch, Ryzen is on par with new I5/I7
