Hey everyone, :hello:
So this is my first time ever trying to build a computer and I wanted to know what some thoughts were about my build. First Its for medium gaming like StarCraft2 and using design programs like Auto Cad and Unigraphics NX. I was on kind of a tight budget ($500 or less) Let me know what you think and any helpful advice would be nice. (all computer parts from newegg.com)

As far as the graphics card is concerned i was looking at another one but wasn't sure if i should go with it.
(EVGA 01G-P3-1450-TR GeForce GTS 450 (Fermi)1GB)

Again its kind of a cheap build in comparison to a lot of others, thoughts would be appreciated

I looked at it and i think that might be a good idea. Thanks, I left a little room price wise just for something like that.
Just might have to get put a couple more fans on that case though =)

this would actually work out better:

phenom 720:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103652

and a good cooler:

adds up to the same $99 as that athlon 640.

athlon 640 vs a phenom 720:

with that cooler you could also OC it and there is a chance of unlocking it into a fully fledged phenom quad core!

and i would reccommend looking into this case:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146061

i would reccommend getting a USB3 and sata6gb/s board (or atleast an AM3+ board):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157243

and why buy a graphics card thats 2 generations old? this would be a better option:

and i would reccommend getting atleast this PSU:

you could save on the ram by going with this:
