Rate my gaming computer

Just bought a gaming pc for around $500, on a scale from 1-10 what do you guys think?

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912
Ram: G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR

For $500, i'd give it a 8.5

The ram is fine, CPU is not bad but dated, decent case, alright power supply and some modest harddrive space.
The graphics card is alright for playing older games at 1080p, but dont expect to be able play modern games at full HD.

My only real gripe is the graphics and the dated CPU and motherboard (which makes it hard to upgrade). But for $500 you cant expect too much.

Thanks a lot for the quick response! Graphics haven't always been my biggest concern in a computer so if I can get quality speed and performance out of this I think the 500 will be well worth it.

Well for reference the i5 2400 is comparable to the current i3 4130 which is slightly faster than a AMD FX 6300 (both valued for being budget friendly gaming CPU's).
And if graphics should become an issue it is relatively simple to upgrade.

I think it's a very nice deal so long as youre not doing anything too intense.

Its a probably what the computer is worth. At least you have some upgrade options you can go for with those parts.

Not sure what kind of rating you are looking for, on the scale of gaming computers, it's on the low end, I'd say a 3 or 4 of 10. The video card is maybe a step over what a minimum "gaming" card should be and the CPU is just at the point where you can play modern games pretty well.

If you go to a Radeon 7770 / 250X would be a noticeable improvement.
