What's the build going to be used for?

I chose i7 because games are going to be using hyperthreading in the future and it benefits when I want to video edit or record or do other intense processing tasks
16gb of ram because If I'm going to get ddr3 with ddr4 right around the corner (but not within my budget for the mobo and cpu that would have to be bought with it, which are the haswell-E cpus and x99s) I want it to last a bit longer for my purposes
