I would go with an Intel core i7 4770K instead of the Xeon E3. I would also get an MSI Z97 motherboard instead of an H97. You may want to do a small upgrade to 12GB of RAM for video editing. Finally, you may want to go with the radeon 300 series instead of the 290; maybe the radeon 390? The rest is good.

How's this.
CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (£196.93 @ Scan.co.uk)
Motherboard: MSI H97 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£62.33 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£40.90 @ Scan.co.uk)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£32.40 @ Aria PC)
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R9 380 4GB PCS+ Video Card (£169.09 @ Ebuyer)
Case: Cooler Master K350 ATX Mid Tower Case (£19.99 @ Scan.co.uk)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (£36.98 @ Scan.co.uk)
Total: £558.62

Why? The E3 Xeon 1231v3 is only 100mhz slower, 105 dollars cheaper, has a slightly faster IPC due to the Haswell Refresh architecture versus the Haswell chip and the only real benefit of the i7 over that chip, which is nearly identical, is that the i7 has integrated graphics. I'd go with the Xeon.

They both have the same amount of cache, use the same chipset drivers and the E3 Xeon actually uses 4w less than the i7. Seems like 100mhz isn't worth paying an extra 105 bucks to me.

Adding RAM later is a dicey proposition. There is no guarantees that modules added at a later date will play nice with the RAM already installed, even if you purchase identical part numbers. Two exact modules, even from the same batch number, if not tested to work together and in dual channel, have been known to be incompatible. If you want or need additional memory it's advisable to get them together, as a matched set and not have to worry about incompatibilities later.

Pretty good build for the price mate, I would recommend at least 16GB of RAM just so you can allocate more to games for better FPS and video rendering wouldbe faster (and obviously more but they are the main)

I'd do it this way, and keep in mind that the prices shown on your build list are including mail in rebates, these prices below do not reflect any applicable mail in rebates that may be included so are a more accurate reflection of your actual initial investment. This has a MUCH better power supply than that EVGA B1 series unit.

It includes a slightly better motherboard than the PCmate board that's been known to have a few issues. A better graphics card, I'd never buy or recommend a Powercolor card for any video production machine or gaming rig. 16GB of RAM, which you'll want for any serious video or 3D editing. A much better case, that actually comes with two preinstalled fans versus a single fan on the K350, plus it has front panel USB 3.0 support which that CM case does not. I also added an additional case fan to add to the front as intake. Regardless which case you go with you'll need to add at least one fan, and it would be recommended that you add at least two additional fans if you do go with that CM case since a single fan is not nearly enough cooling for modern hardware.

How's this?
ASRock Mod 1150 H97M motherboard.
XFX ATX 550w PSU.
Intel Xeon E3 1231 v3.
Sapphire AMD R9 380 Nitro.
HyperX Fury Series 16GB (2 x 8gb).
Zalman Z3 Plus ATX White tower case.
Wester Digital Caviar Blue 1TB hard drive.

+1; This is probably the best that 550 quids could do!

That would work too. For myself I think I'd avoid the Zalman case though. I'm not a big fan of anything Zalman. All their products have proven to be cheap and gimmicky to me, some others might not agree though.
