I've recently starting hearing a rattling sound coming from a fan that I can't pin-point... I don't think it's coming from my CPU fan (it's a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus), I also don't think it's any one of my case fans, I have a ThermalTake VN700M1W2N Overseer RX-I Full Tower Gaming Case... I'm thinking it's either my power supply fan or my graphics card fan. My graphics card is a EVGA GTX 670 FTW version, and my power supply is an LSP 650 W, I'm wondering if anyone had any similar issues and what you did to troubleshoot it.

I have a cheapo graphics card for 3 years now, every 6 months or so the fan dies, I just order the cheapest matching fans on ebay and replace them, The first time it happened I bought a new card for about $85 after that uh no, $3 fans work much better. In fact I was just delivered 3 of them yesterday, and have to go get some thermal paste and replace the one that's on there, of course after I ordered them the noise stopped. ><

What I do when it occurs is take off the side of the case, and reach in near the fan on the GPU, then start computer up, when the noise starts, stop the GPU fan with my finger, note if the noise stops, and let go almost instantly and listen if it restarts. You do not want to hold it for a long amount of time. 1 second or so tops. Just long enough for your ears to register if it goes away or not and then let it spin back up to keep the GPU cool.
