Raw drive recovery

I'm trying to get some data off of an old hdd for a friend, but I'm not doing too well. Does anyone have a walk through?

I would skip the first one since Recuva requires there to a formatted partition and not RAW. The second one seems good but I have never used it.

I use Power Data Recovery and Active Recovery but those both cost $$

i would try recuva and easeus data recovery .
