Hi all,

I have western digital elements 500GB hard drive.

I used it 3 times and then RAW format appeas!

I tried to format the disk to NTFS but the "unable to format.." message appeared.

How can i format the disk? (I don't need the information on the disk).

I have tried to format if from CMD & Disk Management and I didn't succeed.

The store I bought it from told me that the hard drive is encrypted by office 2010 because there is folder for office 2010.
I don't think that this is the problem because all the information i have read in the internet is says the the partition table is corrupt.

what the next step should i do?

Thank you all! :)

Hi there,

Sorry that you are facing some issues with your WD drive. :(

You can just go to Disk Management -> delete the partitions -> create new ones. After that, you should be able to format them.

After that, it may be a good idea to test it with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool. The results will show you whether there is something wrong with the drive.

WD's DLG tool: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=mp7dMg

Let me know how this goes,

I have tried to delete the partition and then creat new one but it didn't secceed also :/

how can i cancel my solved buttom? i pressed it by mistake...

There should be something like "unselect current solution" button over there.
Did you get some sort of error message when you tried to delete the partitions?

You can try writing zeros on the drive with the WD's DLG tool that I have already provided.
