Good time of day everyone I have insane question is it possible to do ray tracing without huge loss of perfomance(less than 50%) on rx 580 8gb my os is windows 11 is there any apps for it I saw only one reshade but its not free and it subscription payment method don't loks like a wise investment to me thanks for your attention whoever you are)

No, if you want ray tracing then the simplest and best method is to get an Nvidia RTX GPU.

The ray tracing that ReShade performs isn't the same kind of ray tracing that's in games that use DXR or VKRT. It uses what was already rendered to enhance the quality of the image in some way, but it can't do things like mirror-like reflections unless the object in question is visible on screen.

A lot of AAA titles that include all the graphical bells and whistles use the same thing ReShade does if it's not using the RT render path.

Yeah some games you can do software ray tracing, it works, I've done it on a 5700xt and a Vega 64 playing around with Minecraft RT and Battfield V, some games that is not even an option, and for good reason, games that do not support hardware accelerated RT, you take a massive performance hit, its not worth it, my 5700xt was getting fps in teens and single digits at 720p, I just wanted to see what it looked like.

The only way to get somewhat decent RT performance is to get a newer card, RTX, and AMD's latest cards do ok with it, RT performance on the 7900xtx is around a RTX 2000 series of cards if not a little better in some titles, no where near the RTX 4000 cards yet.
