Hello guys, I'm thinking of getting a razer blade or alienware 17 but I'm in a dilemma... The razer blade is light and thin and has great performance. The alienware 17 also have better performance with the gtx 780m but its thick and heavy... So should I get a alienware 17 or a razer blade? (If you guys are asking to build a pc, forget bout it as I got a custom pc. I just need a portable laptop) I only have my eyes on razer/alienware. Don't bother to recommend any other brands. Sorry If I said it in a rude way. 😀

Well... it really depends. If you're always on the go and pretty much NEED your PC for everything you do, get the razer blade. But, if you're just going to put it on your desk at home the whole day, get the Alienware 😀

Razer blade is really sexy with that keyboard so I would go with that

They are both amazing laptops. They can run almost any game like Metro and Bioshock well at, at least 30 frames. I love both, but I would say the Blade. Razer makes great products, and so does alienware. The problem with Alienware is that they are thick and heavy. Also, they have some of the worst customer service known to mankind. Go with the Blade, it is great.

Dude, just get the Razer blade, don't ask questions, trust me, just get it

Razer: good performance, good graphics, powerful, portable and thin

Alienware: laptops are crap, powerful, fat, ugly and you might as well just hook it up to ur monitor and the worst services

Well I love the alienware. But the razor blade pro portable, not fat, smooth. But the thing I hate about the razor blade pro is the overheating problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

razer blade, alienware bottlenecks its self with its setup. also the razer blade is portable, beautiful, comes with the new software and the awesome game pad and unless you play it on a pillow, carpet or other soft surface it will not overheat easily

I actually bought (and returned the Razer Blade). The laptop was amazing, but the screen was an epic failure. The contrast on it reminded me of CRTs circa 1999.

I'm debating getting the Alienware - uglier than Razer Blade, but in the end I want my sexiness in my screen, not in my case.

everyone always sais this, do some research and you will find if you update the graphics driver it is much better

Trust me, I didn't give in easily. I loved EVERYTHING else about the Razer so I toyed with drivers, settings... I work with 20 software engineers and we all tried are best to get it to look ok. All solutions were a trade off: ex: finally got the contrast to work for me, lost half the grey levels :/

After doing some research I discovered that Razer decided to use this screen and amp up the brightness on it to get it to look good when there are lots of whites on the screen (which btw - it does look good like this). Trouble for me was the darks. I want my darks to be deep darks. On the Razer, the darkest you get is grey. Maybe now there is a newer driver, but Razer ups the brightness by design. They wanted to optimize the screen for you out of the box, and this seemed to be the best balance the screen can do. If you play dark games (I'm a Civ 5 addict and the game is very text based with white on top of black) you may have trouble getting the screen to really pop for you.

yeah I got one recently and updated the drivers and it was fine, maybe they released new ones
