I've had this pair of Razer Carcharias for about a year now, and I love them, they're comfortable and the audio and mic output quality is acceptable. However, I've noticed after listening to it myself, that the microphone on the headset is picking up the audio from the headphones. I've done everything I can think of to try and fix this:

* Reinstalling audio drivers
* Changing ports (back output/input, front output/input and the output/input ports on two separate keyboards)
* Trying it out on a different computer (my laptop, which has different onboard audio than my desktop)

None of those have made a difference. I've read a couple of different things online; it's either caused by poor shielding around the audio ports or/and an issue with sound blaster specific cards. Since I don't have sound blaster on my laptop, I can only consider the problem to be a specific to this headset.

Having listened to other people who have the same headset, I really don't know what to think, so I thought asking here wouldn't be a bad idea.

Cant say I have had this issue and I have been using a Carcharias for a number of years.
It is an open design headset, which means sound is going to leak from them. So if you have it turned up loud, I can see how could be picked up by the microphone.

Have you tried recording sound with your volume set to 0, having music playing on the computer, and listening afterward if it picked it up? If it does, you can be sure its a software issue, if not then you can be sure its hardware.
