Previously I had wanted to get the Razer Deathstalker because the keys were laptop-style and I feel very comfortable with laptop style keys.

Whenever I had used mechanical keyboards, my fingers would hit the wrong keys and my typing speeds would fall.

However, I finally realized that not a mechanical keyboards are like that. After doing some research, I concluded that it is because of key height, key spacing, and the key wobbles.

The Questions about Razer Blackwidow:

I know the Blackwidow keys are probably pretty high up. But just for comparison, how much higher than a laptop style keyboard is it?

Also, is there a good amount of space between the keys so that accidental presses are rare?

The most important question: are the keys high-quality on the Blackwidow? Basically, are they wobble-resistant, and nice?

There are many versions of the Razer Blackwidow, which one is the "best?" (I don't really care about colors as long as I have blue or green, but if there is a quality difference, I would appreciate it.)

For the Deathstalker, I don't have many questions, but compared to the Blackwidow, which one is better? (Better quality, better comfort, price doesn't matter.)

Thanks in advance. :) :) :)

Solution
I would definitely recommend a Deathstalker since i own one myself, and i like it so much. Its like a laptop style keyboard but it feels alot nicer than all laptop keyboards i have tried.

As for the Blackwidow you have multiple versions ill go over them really quick.

Razer Blackwidow: just a regular blackwidow with green backlights and mechanical switches.
Razer Blackwidow Stealth: Same as the first one but with "silent" keys.
Razer Blackwidow Classic: Has blue LED lights.

Razer Blackwidow Chroma: This one comes with RGB lightning, other than that still the same.
Razer Blackwidow Chroma Stealth: Comes with "silent" keys and RGB.
Razer Blackwidow Tournament edition Chroma Stealth: Without numpad, "silent" keys and RGB.

I don't think the height of the keys really affects anything at all. If i type on my friends Blackwidow for example i can type just as fast. It is not like i feel im going any slower.

On my Deathstalker i never have an accidental press. As for the Blackwidow the keys feel really solid so i would say yes accidental presses should be pretty rare.

I would consider the blackwidows keys as high quality, they feel solid and pretty nice overall.

There isn't really a "best" version, it really comes down to your personal preference.

Solution
Somewhat broke college student that types most of his papers on a tiny laptop throwing in my two cents . This past christmas I was gifted a blackwidow with Razer's Green switches for my gaming rig, and I had some issues getting used to the keyboard as it was my first mechanical keyboard.

Now for full sized keyboards, I actually like having very distinct row heights on a keyboard as it helps me keep track when gaming. For regular typing I see no issue with this keyboard's key heights, but the first hour or two playing a mmorg I found that the keys were so similar in feel that rather than returning to AWD my fingers found themselves Caplck QS. This was probably due to my own inexperience with owning a keyboard with macro keys on the side as after reaching up to hit several number keys my pinky would slink over to the macro keys messing up muscle memory . However if you're used to the style of keyboard or keys, then I see no issue.

Compared to the key spacing on my Acer laptop, the spacing of the keys are about the same within a row, and the main keys on the Blackwidow keyboard are solid, but the keys on the side do have some side wobble (Caps, Tab, etc), but that's if you grab the key and wobble it.

However other to typing on a mechanical, my main beef with non mechanical keyboards would be my shifts not registering as either my pinkies are shorter than average or I just don't press hard enough. I do not have this issue on this keyboard and now I am searching for another mechanical keyboard for dedicated typing as the responsiveness of mechanical switches in general are amazing.

Thanks, I might get the Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth because I heard that it lasts longer than the Deathstalker. (and its quieter) I haven't really used mechanical keyboards before but according to SomeGoogler it shouldn't be too hard to get accustomed to. SomeGoogler also said that the spacing was decent.

I'm hoping there is a demo at Fry's.

Anyways, thanks for your input Sandstorm3000 and SomeGoogler.

(best solution to Sandstorm because first reply. SomeGoogler was also very helpful. thx)
