Razer Kraken 7.1 - Not working and hot cable.

For the past week or so I have been noticing some problems with my headset. It has been disconnecting randomly and reconnecting and sometimes requires a certain 'cable orientation' for it to work but not it has decided to completely stop working and the cable is getting hot where it enters the ear cup. Does anyone have any similar experiences or have any suggestions?

Warranty is not an option. Bought the headset late 2014.

Cables over time can break(from bending back and forth). It happens slowly and that would explain why you had to bend the cable to make it work as well as the periodic disconnects.

If you are able to open the headset, you may be able to sway the cable or shorten it cutting out the damaged part.
