Razer Kraken 7.1's not appearing to work..

Well I have had the Razer Kraken's for a while now however they decided to just switch off when I was letting the cable untangle (I just held it up by the cable and let it 'spin itself out') and the lights went and it died (I guess). When I plug it in the cable also get very hot so I'm thinking that the current maybe is being blocked at the top of cable in the rubber bit. I have contacted the manufacturer to try and get a replacement however I was wondering if anyone has had this issue or knew of a possible fix if I couldn't get a replacement. Thanks. *if needed I can provide pictures however there isn't any visible damage of frayed wire.

No you most likely damaged the cable by putting the headsets weight on then don't use then the getting hot bit us a sign of a short and could be dangerous

OK, thanks for the response. Is there anything I could do try and fix em, or are they busted?
