Razer Makes "PC Gaming is Not Dead" Teaser Page

PC gaming is alive and well, thank you. We PC gamers will always be around -- as a minority, sure -- but around nonetheless.

Just ordered a copy of "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" and a few other older titles today -- can't wait to play them.

Sales of PC titles are gravy to the developers, even if the bulk of their revenue comes from the consoles. So, as long as the money is flowing from PC gamers, we will still see titles released on the platform.

I think you can. $2500 for something you can get anywhere else from another major maker for $500 less or more if you built it yourself.

It's like paying sticker price for a Caddy, only an idiot does that.
 
You know what's funny. On the main page on Toms, there is also a headline "Demise of Game Consoles is Greatly Exaggerated". So is it all gaming dead? Or is it just a bunch of lies.

They are not over charging though. They set a price, if it was to expensive for the consumer they would lower the price. YOU might not want to spend the money but someone else does. Should i think that you are an idiot for going to a restaurant when going to a grocery store and then cooking it at home? The way I see it you can only overcharge things that are required as fundamental basics for human servival. Everything else is a LUXURY and you cannot overcharge that.

I have seen our local Best Buy essentially eliminate PC games from the walk ways.

I already am aware that Razer will do a mouse, headset and keyboard for BF3 (Correct me if I am wrong) The only piece of hardware that probably can improve gaming would be a device to image your body and head movements. Translating that to movement within a game. For example, fly a BF3 Jet, all you need to do is move your head around to look everywhere.

I gave up consoles such as the N64 when I became an adult and always will build and play PC games.
 
Lol. This story crackes me up. Razer is a PC company. Ofcorse they are going to say 'PC gaming isn't dying'. They are bias.

With that said, PC gaming isn't dying because PC's have the most powerful available graphic technology. Until a portable devices and consoles are consistantly more powerful that a desktop, pc gaming isn't going anywhere.

1. The ONLY apple product I own is a 2nd Gen Touch I got for Christmas.
2. I BUILD my desktops and buy laptops after reading reviews of the product. SO I am NOT an elitest
3. IT IS A LUXURY ITEM!!! You don't NEED this to live also its not just marketing, they have their OWN OS and software for their products. Marketing is having 2 like products ,Sony and Gateway for example, with IDENTICAL specs but the Sony sells for $500 more than the Gateway.
4. YOUR A TOOL who cannot distingues what it means to have something overpriced. GOOD DAY!

I'm having a hard time agreeing with you on this one. The headline is "pc gaming" and the screenie shows a desktop computer. A neat but puny little device like that is not going to revolutionize anything as far as games go b/c I dont see how its much different than gaming on an android tablet / asus transformer type device.

I signed up. Let's see....

It probably has something to do with some game release as others have mentioned. Also, one of the things Razer is missing in elite peripherals is a head-worn VR glasses type device hehehe... so who knows.
 
It may shift back to gamers taking up there programming arms and writing there own stuff to keep pc's going!

i think you were right about that. 'PC gaming is not dead' maybe they refer to BF3 tournament that will be hold at PAX

I'm surprised Tom's hasn't provided an update on this. You can't just report on a story like this and then not provide an update!

Anyhow, as it turns out, RAZR has developed what they call "the world's first gaming laptop". It's a 17" laptop with 1920x1080 resolution, just 0.88" thick, sports an Intel Core i7 2640M processor, 8GB DDR3 RAM and an Nvidia GT 555M discreet graphics processor. Apparently, it comes with a 320GB HDD, which any gamer in his right mind will immediately swap out for an SSD.

CPU specs seem a little funny on the core count.
