Razer Mamba Configurator

I downloaded Synapse 2.0 and it didn't detect my Razer mamba, i said ok and i used Synapse for my keyboard. The point being that i downloaded the drivers (version 1.7) for my Mamba and it just says Mamba not detected, application will close when i start the configurator. I have a Razer Mamba 2009 and run Windows 7 (ultimate) 64 bit. Please help.

i have similar issue with my brand new Mamba 4g. first when i plugged it in, i did not download the driver/software, just played with it for a while, liked the sensitivity, the adjustable DPI settings, everything. BUT, then i downloaded Synapse 2.0 (my OS: Windows 7 (64bit (i think)). 2 things happened: i started getting same lags as described above, AND the DPI bar on mouse which shows you the speed it's set with the green/red bars stopped working properly. it was just showing 3 full green bars all the time, regardless of the current setting, AND from 6 stages of DPI sensitivity it was dropped down to 5 stages.
Ok, i thought there must be some standalone Mamba driver, that i could use. so i downloaded the latest (and one before) drivers for Mamba 2012 (compatible with Mamba 4G) and guess what: "Mamba not detected, application will close"...
So yeah, i DO NOT like Synapse because it limits the DPI settings, stops showing the right setting on the mouse, and starts lagging. for now i removed synapse and am using the mouse without any drivers. it stopped lagging, i got back my coloured bars and 6 stages of DPI, and it still feels great. just that i am unable to fine-tune the mouse and play with colours and such, so i do want to get one or other driver, once i figure out how to make it work.. thanks for any suggestions!
