Hi, my mouse scroll wheel stopping functioning correctly about a week or two ago. It was working perfectly one day, I went to sleep, and the next morning when I scroll it jumps all over the place. It is not playable in games like gta v when you need to scroll to switch weapons, thus being something wrong with the mouse. I used some compressed air on it yesterday and it got a little better, but today it is back to jumping all over. I can provide video if necessary. I am just trying to avoid buying another mouse. Thanks.

Clear your profiles on-board and on Synapse, and reinstall synapse. See if that helps. Try switching your USB port too.

Also, try switching to use primarily the one you're not currently; my Logitech mouse jumps but it's only if you use the on-board for some reason. Perhaps you'll find something similar w/ yours.

Also a general trip for troubleshooting: It's what Sherlocke Holmes or whoever says:

"You must first eliminate the impossible, at which point, not matter how improbable, you are left with your answer.

Try and think of all the possible points of failure in the chain, usually:

- Hardware on the item itself

- Software on the item itself

- Software on the PC (Updates, drivers, etc. usually a place to start)

- Hardware on the host system

Once you have that, figure out how you can isolate each of those. As an example, if it is system hardware or software, if you switch the mouse to another computer, you should find it works again. Ergo, it's an issue with your PC configuration. If it doesn't, then you know it's independent of your computer, and you should investigate issues with the mouse itself.

It's science! Try and isolate the variables, and what you're left with should tell you with high probability what you need to do to fix it. Also: no step is too obvious. Trust me, you'll think it is, and skip it.... then 4 hours later lo and behold, it was the source of your problem.

Good luck!

That mouse has some on-board (memory within the mouse itself) memory to hold key macros and stuff, does it not? Most gaming mice will.

To clear those, if you have Razer Synapse installed, there should be an option in there.
