Razer Naga 2014 Worry

I have the Razer Naga 2014 with the braided cable and I have my PC on the ground with the card leading UP to my desk. Since there was a drag coming from the cable, I decided to put an approx. 2-5 lb wait on the braided cable to decrease the tension. Will this weight affect the cable in any way? Like will it damage it?
