I have a server at home with Windows 10 on it with a RDP connection configured.

I am connecting from 5 devices and everything worked great, until last week, one of the computers just can't connect. always stuck on SECURING REMOTE CONNETION.

The other devices from the same network can connect without a problem.

This computer is running Windows 10, fully updated and it's in the same network.

I have tried:

  • Restarting the PC
  • Last time I restarted the server, it solved the issue, but only for one time. The next time I tried to connect the same problem appeared.
  • Restore the PC to a previous date when it was working. still didn't help!
  • Disabling all the firewalls and antiviruses on both the server and PC - didn't help
  • Reinstalling the network card on the PC - didn't help
  • Checked all the regional settings are matching and time is set correctly.

What else can I try?

Ok.. I just had a thought and tried connecting with the IP instead of the server name and it worked..

When I do 'ping servername'
I get: Reply from fe80::898c:4993:4d48:eeec%12: time<1ms

Something to do with IPv6?

What can be the issue?

Can anyone help me please?
I cannot connect to my server by a server name and it also messed up connecting from external connection.
I don't see a way to configure port forwarding via ipv6.

How do I disable this thing completely? I never asked for it..
