I just purchased a Gateway system(I know maybe I will build my next computer) with a 2.4Ghz 533 FSB with 512MB of PC800 Memory. My question is I have been reading about the PC1066 memory. Is this something I can use in the future for an upgrade? Does my motherboard support it? Will it make that much of a difference?
I don't have to upgrade for awhile I hope but I can go up to 2G of Ram if I need to. Will I be able to mix my memory(800 and 1066)?
System also has 120G HD 7200rpm
128mb Nvidia Gforce4 4600ti
40x/12x/48x
16x Dvd
SoundBlaster Audigy Audio
Viewsonic 19" P95f
BA speakers
I got it Delivered for 2300
Any help would be great
I'm using a 266mhz P2 w/128mb Ram and a 16mb PCI video card now, so this system should blow me away. Can't wait to get it and actually play RTCW without the poor graphics and chop.
Thanks
Pete
