Hi,

Some trouble here to reïnstall UNREAL AWAKENING.
It was removed, maybe not in a proper way, and now, when I want to install,
the only option to choose is "remove".
In "software" there is still about 16 MB remaining, when I choose remove
there, the 'uninstall procedure' of the game itself start , gives no errors,
but the game still remains in the list of software. I can't get it out.

What next? any idea's?

Then tell us how you removed it.

So, remove it.

Ah, typical Windoze mess. Now remember to use the proper uninstall
programs, instead of just removing the files. The problem is: the
uninstall program needs information that was in those files.

Open the registry editor, and find all the keys concerning the game.
Remove those keys. Be very careful, because a slight mistake might
make your entire computer unbootable.

I did not do that myself, and the guy who did it doesn't remember....

I did that, several times

Yep, I will do that. I will make a backup first.

Thanks

Pascal.

Ok, in that case you can mock things up. If it happens, just tell the
other dude that he shouldn't trust a wannabe to fix his computer ;-)

I worked on hundreds of computors, didn't mock one up so far....
I'll try it with

Go and delete the game installation directory manually. Now go to
Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs. Find the entry for Unreal and try
to remove it. Windows will tell you that the program is missing and will
ask you whether you want to remove it from the list. Say "Yes".

Now try to reinstall it again. If it still thinks that it is already
installed then

1) make a mental note that the game programmers still have a lot to
learn about practical programming

2) do a registry cleaning by either manual search for relevant entries
or, maybe, using an automated registry cleaning tool (don't forget to
backup your registry first).
