Question re-activating after motherboard change windows 10

I changed from an x470-f strix to a crosshair 7 hero and when i go to troubleshoot and "i recently changed hardware" it shows my computer name but not my motherboard in it. and i click this is my current pc or something and clicked activate but it just keeps on erroring. any idea why?

Was your OS license linked to a Microsoft account before the hardware change?
