I'm one of those weird people that uses a trackball for gaming, so the pads on the bottom tend to come off a lot.

Is there anything better than alcohol for cleaning out the old glue and gunk on the bottom of both the trackball and the pads? Using 91% rubbing alcohol doesn't always get all of it off.

I'm also looking for a good glue for that will keep the pads stuck on longer than whatever cheap stuff the manufacturer used.

Thanks!

Solution
JB weld is the strongest stuff you can get to glue them back, and yeah goo-gone is gonna be a good bet to getting the previous glue gone.

A thought occurred to me. There's screws underneath the pads and a good gaming trackball is a rare and precious thing that needs maintenance on occasion. Maybe I don't want anything too permanent.

@luckymatt42: Thanks, I was trying to remember the name of that stuff!
