Is there a way to do a reinstall of FS2004 to replace a
couple of missing cfg files without losing all the add-
ons, etc. like simflyers airports that are in the current
FS2004 folder?
Thank you kindly!

The add-ons will remain in the FS9 folder, you may need to save the
scenery.cfg file though, or re-enter them via the scenery library
after re-installation. Before you go through this, which files are you
exactly missing?

I can't answer your question, but am interested in what
you might say about the video performance of your
computer when flying around airports with new add-on
scenery?

If you're video system is not "stuttering", what video
card are you using?

Regards...

I'm interested in what you might say about the best
possible video performance expectations for a computer
when flying around airports with new add-on, more
realistic and more complex, scenery that gamers are
developing?

Specifically, what video system upgrade for a computer
playing FS9, and using Windows XP, is top of the line ?

Regards...

To Kathy:

The missing files are terrain.cfg and Scenery.cfg. Thanks
for your help.

Re: First question 5\7.I have a Dell Dimension 4500,
AMD 2g processor, 512RAM, nVidia GeForce4 MX420 display
adaptor. Normally I get 25-35 frames per minute with
FS2004 with all sliders at top or next to top settings,
except for taxi and takeoff from a Simflyers add-on
airport. The FPS drops to as low as 3-5. Taxi is OK but
take-off roll is a bit "choppy".

Those are generated and may not match from one installation to
another, you'd better re-install FS and add manually any add-on
scenery you might have...
