Hi,
I originally purchased windows 8, upgrading to windows 10 when it was released.
I'd like to do a clean install as i'm selling my PC, but i've lost both the key and install cd for windows 8.
What's the best way to do this? I purchased the motherboard and oem windows separately - so i don't know if the product key is embedded in the bios.
thanks,

If this is in the same system, no problem.

As the system has already been Upgraded to 10, you can do a clean install of Win 10 without the old WIn 8 license key.
Download and run the MediaCreation tool from MS.
Create your own DVD.
Boot from that, clean install.
Give the new owner that DVD for his future use.
OEM licenses are tied to the first install and can't be transferred to a new PC. The Windows 10 key is also tied to the PC that received the Windows 10 upgrade. Microsoft might help you if you call them.
