hey there people i have a short question,

i have as my C drive a 1TB drive and a 2TB drive for storage, but now i want to re-install windows (7-64bit) and i want to know if the files that i will be copying from my C to my 2TB disk are safe when re-installing.

If it's just a storage drive there won't be any need to format it, unless you want to.
It will basically pop back up in Computer as if you were plugging in a memory stick or something.

If you have any programs installed on the drive however, they will cease to function on the reinstalled...
As far as I know they're perfectly safe, you select the drive to format/install on during the installation process.

Unplug the SATA cable from the board temporarily if you want peace of mind.

thanks, that comforts me a little, but if i take the SATA cable out and plug it back in when i re-installed windows, how do i get that disk to work again without deleting the files?
(when i installed it i heard that you have to format it)

You don't really need to unplug the extra drive, just make absolutely certain you select the right one to format/install onto during the Windows installation screen. It's one of the first screens I seem to recall.
